Nya MeX 12.10 64bit Linux Live DVD är en remaster av Ubuntu 12.10 - alias Quantal Quetzal, släppt den 18 oktober 2012. Originalet innehåller skrivbordsmiljön Unity 6.8.0. I nya MeX har jag dessutom installerat KDE 4.9.2 (senaste stabila version), Gnome 3.6.0, Gnome Classic, Cinnamon 1.6.4, Xcfe 4.10, XBMC 11 och Fluxbox 1.3.2, som ytterligare alternativ, så att alla på stående fot (under live-körning) kan jämföra de olika skrivbordsmiljöerna.

Använd kernel
3.5.0-18-exton, kompilerad av mig igår. Ubuntus originalkernel är 3.5.0-17-generic.

Vem passar nya MeX för?
Svar: Alla som gillar Ubuntu och vill testa olika skrivbordsmiljöer live. Härtill alla som vill ha den senaste ubuntukärnan (eller har behov av densamma).

Historia och nyheter
Nya MeX 12.10 64bit Linux version 121102 ersätter MeX Linux 64bit från 120722. Du kan nu alltså köra/testa hela åtta (8) olika skrivbordsmiljöer. Dagens version 121102 kan sägas vara baserad på Ubuntu 12.10 64bit med inslag av Linux Mint (Cinnamon), Kubuntu och Xubuntu.

See a short Description of MeX's features. Differences: Ubuntu 12.10 and MeX Linux is different only in principle to the terms of program content. A general truth: If an original system can run on a particular computer an "Exton remaster" of the same original system can run on the same computer. I never change a Linux system for the worse in terms of auto configuration and hardware detection, etc. It happens that I replace the original kernel (which I have done in this case), but always to a "better" one with even more native support for various hardware etc. Exton distributions: The number of Exton distributions has decreased from 66 (all time high in June 2011) to 32. See a complete LIST. It was a bit too much for me to keep 66 distributions up to date. All Exton distributions on the Swedish Linux Society's FTP Server can be reached HERE. Twelve (12) Exton distributions in English (English locale) can also be dowloaded from SourceForge.net.
