RaspAnd 11 (Android 11) for Raspberry Pi 4 with Netflix, Spotify, Bluetooth, Firefox and F-Droid working very well :: Build 210309

ABOUT RaspAnd 11 – Build 210309
RaspAnd 11 runs very well on a Raspberry Pi 4. I.e. the system is pretty responsive if you use a micro SD card of good quality. RaspAnd 11 has the following apps pre-installed: Netflix, Spotify, SVTPlay, Termux, Firefox, F-Droid, and Aida64. Unfortunately not Google Play Store, but F-Droid works as good replacement for it. You can also download APK files (Android packages) and install them. Normally without problems.

ABOUT Android 11, which was released 200908…

About Raspberry Pi 4
This build (RaspAnd 11 210309) works very well on the new Raspberry Pi 4. I used the latest model with 8GB RAM, but you can of course use the other models too.

MORE NEWS 210309 ABOUT RaspAnd 11
RaspAnd 11 can be installed to a Micro SD card (preferable a class 10 card) in Windows 10 using Rufus, Win32 Disk Imager or Etcher. You can alternatively (of course) use the dd-command in a Linux system.

RaspEX Kodi for Rpi4, Rpi3 and Rpi2 with LXDE/LXQt Desktop and Kodi 18.7/19.0 Media Center with Netflix, YouTube, Plex and Amazon Video addons – Build 210205 (32-bit) and Build 210208 (64-bit)

ABOUT RaspEX Kodi
RaspEX Kodi Build 210205 (32-bit) and 210208 (64-bit) with LXDE/LXQt/Kodi Desktops Both systems can be downloaded from SourceForge.net for free. The systems are made especially for the new Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB, 4GB and 2GB). RaspEX Kodi is based on Debian 11 Bullseye (Build 210208) respectively Debian 10 Buster (Build 210205), Raspberry Pi OS (previously called Raspbian) and Kodi Media Center. In RaspEX Kodi I’ve added the LXDE/LXQt Desktop with many useful applications such as VLC Media Player and NetworkManager. Makes it easy to configure your wireless network. I’ve also upgraded Kodi to version 18.7 Leia, which makes it possible to include useful addons such as Netflix and Amazon Video. Which I’ve done in Build 210205. RaspEX Kodi Build 210208 uses the LXQt Desktop and Kodi 19.0 Matrix. Study all included packages in RaspEX Kodi Build 210205 respectively Build 210208.

NOTE1: RaspEX Kodi Build 210208 64-bit is only for Raspberry Pi 4 computers.

NOTE2: Build 210208 (64-bit) is missing the Netflix addon. Widevine CDM (which is necessary for Netflix to work) is not available natively on ARM64.

More about RaspEX Kodi 64-bit Build 210208
The previous 64-bit build is from 200726. In this new build I’ve replaced LXDE with LXQt, which have a more “modern” look. I’ve also upgraded Kodi to version 19.0 Matrix (BETA). It works very well.

RaspEX Kodi for Rpi4, Rpi3 and Rpi2 with LXDE Desktop and Kodi 18.7 Media Center “Leia” with Netflix, YouTube, Plex and Amazon Video addons – Build 210205 (32-bit) and Build 200726 (64-bit)

ABOUT RaspEX Kodi
RaspEX Kodi Build 210205 (32-bit) and 200726 (64-bit) with LXDE/Kodi Desktops
Both systems can be downloaded from SourceForge.net for free. The systems are made especially for the new Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB, 4GB and 2GB). RaspEX Kodi is based on Debian 11 Bullseye respectively Debian 10 Buster, Raspberry Pi OS (previously called Raspbian) and Kodi Media Center. Study all included packages in RaspEX Kodi Build 210205 respectively Build 200726.

NOTE: Build 200726 (64-bit) is missing the Netflix and YouTube add-ons. You can (possibly) install them yourself. Without the YouTube add-on many other add-ons can’t run. Read about how to create and setup your YouTube API Key, ID and Secret for Kodi.

Used kernels
1) 5.10.12-exton-v7l+ (for Rpi4) in Build 210205
2) 5.10.12-exton-v7+ (for Rpi3 and Rpi2) in Build 210205
3) 5.4.51-v8+ (for Rpi4) in Build 200726
4) 5.4.51-v7+ (for Rpi3 and 2) in Build 200726
The system will automatically determine which Raspberry Pi you are using and load the correct kernel.

RaspEX Kodi performance
RaspEX Kodi is a very fast and responsive Rpi4 system. Much due to very low memory (RAM) usage. About 200 MB as this screenshot shows. I’ve said that RaspEX LXDE Build 210101 is very fast. RaspEX Kodi is even faster. The video and sound quality is also very very good. Even while running RaspEX Kodi on big TV screens. I.e. you can really enjoy Netflix and YouTube running on your Rpi4 mini computer!

Run Android 10 on your PC :: AndEX 10 (Android-x86_64) with GAPPS (Google Play Store etc.), F-Droid, Brave Browser, VLC, Computer Launcher 2 and Spotify :: Build 201027

NEWS 201027 – A new version of AndEX 10 is ready!
I’ve uploaded a new upgraded version of AndEX 10 – android_x86_64-10-exton-gapps-aptoide-fdroid-spotify-1330mb-201027.iso. All included apps have been updated to the latest version. Also Google Play Services and Google Play Store. The ISO file is of only 1330 MB! Makes it easier to run AndEX on computers with low RAM. The very nice launcher Computer Launcher 2 is used in this AndEX version. Make it your standard Launcher. (Surprise your friends with new look style windows 11 of your Android). Version 201027 of AndEX 10 is a totally new build with a new kernel – 4.19.122-exton-android-x86_64. I’ve noticed that the WiFi connection works better with this new kernel. I.e. the connection is more stable.

Upgrade from previous versions of AndEX 10?
If you already have AndEX 10 version 200108, 200218, 200225 or 200604 up and running there is no need to acquire the newest version from 201027. Just upgrade all apps to the latest version of today and you’re done! Use Google Play Store for that. You can of course also install for example YouTube, Brave, the Spotify app and Google Play Games yourself (if you are running the AndEX 10 mini version of 200225).

NEWS 201027 about AndEX 10 with GAPPS
My fifth build of AndEX 10 is ready. It has GAPPS (Google Play Store etc), Aptoide App Manager, F-Droid, Spotify, Google Maps, YouTube, Gmail, VLC, Brave Private Browser, Computer Launcher 2 and many other apps pre-installed. My new build of Android x86_64 10 – android_x86_64-10-exton-gapps-aptoide-fdroid-spotify-1330mb-201027.iso can be installed to hard drive or on a USB stick. You can also run the system live. I.e. from a DVD or a USB stick. On some computers you’ll have to start up AndEX 10 in compatibility mode (VESA) though. The sound and video performance is generally very very good. Google Play Store works very well in this build of AndEX 10. So does the YouTube and Spotify app. I’ve also included two extra app stores – Aptoide App Manager and F-Droid. Use them if you can’t find the app you’re looking for using Google Play Store.

MORE ABOUT AndEX 10
My new compiled Android-x86_64 system (10) can run and be installed on almost all newer laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Asus laptops. You can also run AndEX 10 in VirtualBox and/or VMware. Unfortunately with somewhat bad performance. I.e. the system is a bit slow and it might restart. I can also mention that I could run my AndEX 10 on a HP Pavilion 500-317no Desktop Computer and on a Lenovo ThinkStation C30. You can very easy do a “normal” or manual installation to hard drive. A manual installation can also be done to a drive where you already have another Linux system (for example Ubuntu 20.04) installed.

About Netflix
You can’t run Netflix. The Netflix app works in my AndEX 9 Pie Build 190912, AndEX Oreo Build 181028 and AndEX Marshmallow Build 170923 though. AndEX 10 is rooted, which prevents Netflix from running.

RaspAnd Pie 9 for Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+ :: Build 190429 :: with Google Chrome, YouTube, Evie Launcher, Yalp Store and Aptoide App Manager. All working very well!

ABOUT RaspAnd Pie 9 – a new extra build 190429
RaspAnd Pie 9 runs very well on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and 3 Model B+. I.e. the system is pretty responsive if you use a micro SD card of good quality. RaspAnd Pie Build 190429 has the following apps pre-installed: Google Chrome, Yalp Store, Aptoide App Manager, Aida64, Rotation Control, Evie Launcher, Termux and ES File Explorer. Unfortunately not Google Play Store, but Yalp Store and Aptoide work as good replacements for it.

ABOUT Android Pie 9, which was released 180806…

Differences
My first RaspAnd Pie Build is from 190315. In Build 190429 I’ve added Yalp Store and replaced Nova Launcher with Evie Launcher.

About Yalp Store
Yalp Store lets you download apps directly from Google Play Store as apk files. It can search for updates of installed apps and lets you search for other apps. The point of Yalp Store is to be small and independent from Google Services Framework. By default Yalp Store connects to Google services using a built-in account, so you do not have to own a Google account to use it. The only reason to use a live Google account is to access the paid apps you own or leave reviews. So Yalp Store works as a pretty good replacement for Google Play Store. I think.

About Evie Launcher

Evie Launcher works very well in RaspAnd Pie.

Android-x86_64 Pie 9.0 with Pie Launcher, Yalp Store, Aptoide App Manager, Netflix, Spotify and Firefox with YouTube – Build 190426

NEWS 190426 about a new extra version of AndEX Pie 9.0
My new build of Android x86_64 – andex-x86_64-pie-9.0-aptoide-netflix-spotify-1610mb-190426.iso can be installed to hard drive or on a USB stick. You can also run the system live. I.e. from a DVD or a USB stick. On some computers you’ll have to start up AndEX 9.0 in compatibility mode (VESA) though. The sound and video performance is generally very very good. Yalp Store and Aptoide App Manager work very well in this build of AndEX Pie. So does the Netflix and Spotify app. I have unfortunately not been able to install Google Play Store and other GAPPS. Yalp Store and Aptoide work as good replacements for Google Play Store though. This new version of AndEX Pie (build 190426) runs somewhat faster and is a bit more responsive than the “old” version (build 190326) of AndEX Pie. It also runs very well live in VirtualBox and VMware. The new version looks better too since it uses Pie Launcher as Desktop environment.

I think.

MORE NEWS 190426 about AndEX Pie 9.0

RaspEX OSMC Rpi3 with LXDE Desktop and Kodi 18 Media Center “Leia” with Netflix, Plex and Amazon Video addons – Build 181223

ABOUT RaspEX OSMC
RaspEX OSMC Build 181223 is made especially for the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, but can of course also be used on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B. OSMC is based on Debian and Kodi Media Center. In RaspEX OSMC I’ve added the LXDE Desktop with many useful applications such as Wicd and NetworkManager. Makes it easy to configure your wireless network. I’ve also upgraded OSMC to a BETA version (Kodi 18 Leia), which makes it possible to include useful addons such as Netflix, Plex and Amazon Video. Which I’ve done. Study all included packages in RaspEX OSMC.

About OSMC (short for Open Source Media Center) and the difference between RaspEX OSMC and OSMC original
OSMC is based on Debian and Kodi Media Center. It is an embedded, minimal, self updating Linux distributing which ships a Kodi front-end for a variety of devices. The project was founded by Sam Nazarko in 2014 and is maintained by a group of volunteers in their spare time. OSMC can be downloaded for free for all supported platforms on their official Download page. So OSMC has no real Linux Desktop. After the boot process and some configurations are ready you will end up directly in Kodi. Running RaspEX OSMC you will immediately end up at LightDM‘s login page – see below how it will look. From there you can log in to the LXDE Desktop as the ordinary user osmc or as root. Passwords: osmc/root. As user osmc you can alternatively log in directly to Kodi 18. After the first boot you should, however, chose to log in to the LXDE Desktop and use Wicd and/or NetworkManager for configuring your network connection. The big difference between OSMC and RaspEX OSMC is that Kodi 18 Leia is pre-installed in RaspEX OSMC together with some really useful addons (Netflix, Plex and Amazon Video). Those addons need Widevine to run. While you are logged in to the LXDE Desktop you can use Synaptic Package Manager to install all extra packages you may need. Since OSMC/RaspEX OSMC is based on Debian you’ll have about 30000 packages to chose between.

RaspEX OSMC performance
RaspEX OSMC is a very fast and responsive Rpi system. Much due to very low memory (RAM) usage. About 100 MB as this screenshot shows. I’ve said that RaspEX LXDE Build 181015 is very fast. RaspEX OSMC is even faster especially if you use the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ to run it. The video and sound quality is also very very good. Even while running RaspEX OSMC on big TV screens. ChromX (Chromium OS) – Exton Build 181218 – with YouTube working fast and responsive

About ChromX
I have compiled Chromium OS from source for the third time. Chromium OS is an open-source project that aims to build an operating system that provides a fast, simple, and more secure computing experience for people who spend most of their time on the web. My Chromium OS Build 181218 is for all 64 bit “normal” Desktop computers and laptops. If you have unusual hardware you could check out ArnoldTheBat’s special Chromium OS builds.

How do I run Chromium OS?
Normally you run Chromium OS from a USB stick, but the system can also be installed to hard drive. Could be useful if you want to bring new life to an old computer. Be aware of the fact that Chromium OS can’t be installed together with other Linux systems (or any other OS). It will “take” the whole disk.

The difference between Chromium OS and Google Chrome OS
Chromium OS is the open source project, used primarily by developers, with code that is available for anyone to checkout, modify, and build. Google Chrome OS is the Google product that OEMs ship on Chromebooks for general consumer use.
